Many people think that to look great, and to wear the finest and most fashionable clothes, that you need to have a swollen bank account, but this simply is not the case. In fact, if you are smart and shop sensibly, you can look like a model at a fraction of the price and impress your friends and colleagues with an impressive selection of clothing that will look like it is straight off the catwalk.
If you want to dress like a fashionista and can’t afford to pay the high end prices, here are some tips on looking great, on a budget.
Checking out magazines are a great way of finding out where you can grab the very best fashion clothing at high street prices. Many stores will directly imitate what has been seen on the catwalk and do so at far cheaper prices because you are not paying for the brand label which comes with it. Make sure that you start picking up weekly magazines and you check out the fashion sections at the back which will show you how to dress like a model for a fraction of the price.
Thrift shops and charity shops are great places to pick up the very best bargains and if you are dedicated enough then you can find some great pieces for your wardrobe. Whilst these items may very well be pre-owned, they are often in great condition and you can recycle them to look amazing when you head out and about.
Fashion comes and goes but there are often some pieces which you can use for many years and they will come in and out of fashion through the years. You may need to fork out quite a large amount of money in the first instance but this will repay itself time and again as your favorite piece comes back into fashion. Things like a little black dress, a good quality winter parker and some scrappy black heels are the types of thing that you should be investing in as these are items which may go away, but will always come back into the fashion fold.
Add Your Own Style
DIY fashion can be a great way of staying in touch with what is fashionable whilst managing to save a great deal of money at the same time. There are many ways in which you can make your own style, simply by altering existing clothing which you have. For example, when the Daisy Duke-style shorts came into fashion recently, I decided to cut a pair of my old jeans so that I could make my own shorts, I would have thrown the jeans away anyway so I was able to save on waste, and recycle my clothes to save me money. Check out what you already have in your closet and see if you can turn an item into a hot fashion piece.
